Croissant Chronicles I
Surprise surprise. This crescent shaped delight of deliciousness is not your typical croissant. It was not until I made it to Germany to witness this style. This is the Laugen Croissant, which is a buttery croissant made from Rye. The same foundation as pretzels, so, yes it tastes like a pretzel. Salted. It was not as crispy and flakey as a typical Parisian Croissant. Maybe 65% flakey. The butter felt a bit cleaner. Picked this one up from Ditsch Bakery at Saarbrücken HBF train station.
